Service Doors
Recommended for security against entry, damage, and weather for exterior and interior openings in industrial, commercial, institutional, retail and other buildings. Cornell Rolling Service Doors benefit the user in various ways:
- Long Life: Rugged all metal construction
- Space Saving: Service doors roll upward and store in a tight coil above the opening.
- Design Flexibility: All doors are built to order to fit your size openings.
- Aesthetics: available in 22, 20 and 18 gauge galvanized steel (with a baked on gray polyester enamel coating) or 20 gauge stainless steel (with mill, clear or color anodized finish). Or, opt for Cornell's SpectraShield powder coating polyester finish and select from over 200 colors.
- Operation: Availabe in Motor operation, Chain operation, Crank operation, or Push-up operation.
- Windloading: Construction enhancements allow doors to withstand higher windloads.
Insulated Doors
Recommended for security against entry, damage, and weather for exterior and interior openings in industrial, commercial, institutional, and other buildings.
- Insulation: Thermiser provide all the benefits of rolling service doors with the added benefit of foamed in place urethane insulation.
- Perimeter Weathering: Thermiser weatherproofing at bottom bar, guides, lintel and door header cuts air infiltration rate by 90%.
- Special Application - Sound Barrier Doors: Thermiser insulated doors muffle unwanted sound in hospitals, schools, universities and other buildings requiring noise control.
- Energy Savings: Thermiser doors pay for themselves in 42 to 48 months, depending on the climatic zone.
- Long Life: Rugged all metal construction reduces damage and minimizes other maintenance expenses.
- Space Saving: Since the doors roll upward and store in a tight coil above the opening.
- Design Flexibility: Cornell Insulated Doors are recommended for openings up to 40' wide, 30' high.
- Operation: Availabe in Push-up operation, Motor operation, or Chain operation.
- Windloading: All Cornell service doors are designed to resist a minimum 20 psf windload.
Counter Doors
Rolling counter doors (also called shutters) are used to secure openings above counters and other similar finished openings on both interior and exterior walls.
- Aesthetics: Concealed coil designs and a selection of metal finishes, powder coat finish options, or full color graphics (see also Graphics Door), add visual aesthetics to curtain.
- Countertops: Available in stainless steel or plastic laminate in a range of solid colors and other looks, including wood, stone and metallic.
- Design Flexibility: Counter doors can be provided in widths up to 21'-4" and heights up to 10'-0".
- ScreenGard perforated counter door slats: 22 gauge galvanized steel, provides full security with visibility and air circulation.
- Operation: Choose from motor, hand-crank, or push-up designs based on size and weight.
Fire Doors
Fire doors are designed to serve two purposes: to provide access control to certain building areas and to protect an area from the spread of fire.
- Fire Door Features: Automatic closing in the event of fire detection with governed speed.
- Smoke Gasketing available: UL listed perimeter seals are available for providing protection against smoke infiltration at head, guides and sill of fire door openings. An electric sensing edge is an alternate sill seal on motor operated fire doors requiring smoke control.
- Fire Door Mounting: Cornell fire doors may be mounted in either face of wall or between jambs configurations in both interior and exterior walls. Approved wall types for the mounting of fire doors include brick, concrete, concrete masonry units or structural steel jambs. Wood or metal stud walls are not approved for the mounting of fire doors. Walls must be plumb and true with smooth surfaces on which to mount the doors.
Counter Fire Doors
Cornell Rolling Counter Fire Doors (also called fire shutters) are used to secure openings above counters and other similar finished openings where a fire rated product is required or desirable.
- Operation: M100 motor, crank or chain operating systems are recommended for ease of testing and controlled automatic closing speed.
- Material and Finishes: Available in 22 gauge galvanized steel (with a baked-on light gray polyester enamel, with powder coating as an available option) or #22 gauge 300 series stainless steel (with #4 finish).
- Design Flexibility: Approved for the protection of openings up to 16' wide when the height does not exceed 7'-6", or openings up to 12'wide when height is 10' or less.
- Mounting: Counter fire doors are UL approved for mounting to rated drywall, masonry, or steel walls.
Smokeshield Doors
SmokeShield adds tested smoke and draft control protection to Rolling Counter Fire Door assemblies.
- Operation: Available in push-up, hand crank or motor operation.
- Design Flexibility: Available with a maximum width of 12', maximum height of 10'. SmokeShield units can come to rest on a countertop or run full opening height and stop at the floor.
- UL Rated: For fire protection and the loss of property.
- UL Labeled: For smoke and draft control to protect against the loss of life.
Rolling Grilles/Closures
Rolling grilles can be used to protect both interior and exterior openings in malls and storefronts, preventing unauthorized access and discouraging forced entry.
- Open Design Grille: Allows for full visual access to the areas being protected and also allows for the free circulation of air.
- Material & Finishes: Rods are available in mill finish, clear or color anodized aluminum of alloy 5056 H23, polished solid 300 series stainless steel, or solid galvanized steel.
- Operation: Push-up, hand crank, hand chain (face of wall mounted exposed guides only) and motor operation.
- EZ Lift Push-Up Package for Wider Grilles: Allows push-up operation on VisionAire aluminum grilles up to 22' wide by 10' high.
Side Folding Grilles/Closures
Side Folding Grilles and Closures are ideal for retail and institutional that have limited overhead space, which is required with overhead rolling products.
- Open Curtain Design: Allows air to freely circulate.
- Finish & Materials: Aluminum rods, tube spacers and link chains may be mill finish, clear or color anodized. Track, end members, intermediate members, and hinged panels may be clear or color anodized.
- Operation: manual push/pull only.
- Storage: Curtains stack compactly at one end of an opening or bi-part and stack at both ends. Curtains typically require stack space equal to about 25% of opening width.
SentryGateTM Grilles
SentryGate, a patented Cornell Product, is an alternative to traditional rolling grilles or counter doors. Its nylon curtain components and continuous metal rods form a curtain that's stylish, strong, allows visibility and ventilation, and is perfect for high cycle use.
- Curtain Material: Combines high strength nylon components with continuous metal rods spaced every two inches. Its attractive brick pattern design is 65% open for high visibility and ventilation.
- Quick Security Fix: A lightweight and compact design allows unit to bolt directly to existing wall construction, frames or mullions.
- Operation: Motor, hand crank, or push-up designs available.
