Get ready to be inspired.
A Classic Approach
Not ready to fully commit to a lot of color? These suggestions still up the ante on your front door, while adding delightful curb appeal.
Choose a monochromatic look. Love a particular color? Choose that color in several shades and apply the lighter color to the larger portions of the door and use the darker shades for accents or trim work.
If your door has some intricate trim work, why not highlight it? Choose a similar hue or a color combo that is a little daring. We like the pairings of a darker red with black or a medium gray & denim blue.
Go with a stain on your front door instead of paint. This is a desirable look for wood, as it really brings out the distinct patterns in the wood’s grain.
Add color with accessories. A bright welcome mat, ceramic planters or a fanciful wreath can transform a neutral front door area.
Bold and Beyond
If you are looking to make a bold statement then consider one of these color options.
Yellow-Cheery and bright, this color looks stunning when paired with a darker gray home.
Classic Red is always an elegant choice. It works well with brick and neutral colors. An apple red is the brighter option, while a darker maroon would show off brass hardware nicely.
Give your home a tropical, beach-like feel with an Aqua or Sage hue. Both compliment homes with a brick or a white exterior.
Rich and regal, Purple compliments a brown or black exterior. Shades like plum and eggplant lend an elegant look to a home’s design.
Consider a painted pattern, in a chevron, filigree or checker design.
