Design with Decorative Glass

Decorative glass inserts are an excellent way to add style to your front door and curb appeal to your house. ProVia knows no two homes are alike and offers a beautiful collection of designs from which to choose. The possibilities are endless, with the customer being able to choose from clear beveled glass or panels that offer more privacy. A pleasing array of colors will complement any home.

ProVia employs highly skilled craftsman to design and assemble their panels, giving them a unique look. Each panel is crafted by hand. The process begins with measuring and cleaning the caming (the silver, lead free bars) that hold the glass pieces in place. Smaller glass panels are cut by experienced artisans, while larger, more intricate pieces are carved by a high pressured water jet. If a panel is being beveled, larger pieces are guided through a machine, while smaller pieces are completed by hand. A grinder smooths away any imperfections and then the pieces are ready to be assembled.

A template is used to help assemble all the pieces and small nails are used to hold everything in place. Next, all the pieces are soldered together on both sides of the panel to ensure a stable hold. The panel is then washed and a finish is applied to give it an antique look.

The panel is sandwiched between two clear glass panes for protection and to ensure proper insulation. It is now ready to be placed in a door and enjoyed for many years.
